Hopeful Disruptions is a fluid group of friends and artists who are taking collective action with community to reduce environmental losses on our home country. The core group of artists are connected by the Clarence River, from their headwaters to their coastal country. The project is a long-running, experimental, cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary arts intervention, designed to inspire a practical culture of care for country and act for the good in ways that are anti-colonial. We do on-ground work together, on our own, and with environment groups, represent those efforts through our art practice, and, in cooperation with environment groups, are developing an interactive map of cultural and environmental efforts in the Clarence Valley and beyond.
